The Secretary-General met today with His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of the State of Kuwait; His Excellency Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of the State of Kuwait; and His Excellency Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait.

In his meetings, the Secretary-General thanked his interlocutors for the important role played by Kuwait in convening the Donor’s Conference on Syria. He emphasized that Kuwait's hosting of the event comes at a critical time for Syria, where the humanitarian situation continues to worsen. 

The Secretary-General noted Kuwait’s significant efforts to support the work of the United Nations and the international community, particularly in the Arab region.

With the Foreign Minister, the Secretary-General also discussed the ongoing developments in Syria.
