Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. François Lonseny Fall, Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Guinea, in the margins of the 67th General Assembly

The Special Envoy updated the Secretary-General on recent developments relating to the political situation in Guinea, as well as governance, security and economic issues.

The Secretary-General stressed the importance of making further progress in security sector reform, and the need to work in partnership with international stake-holders on the peace-building priorities of the country.  He also underlined human rights issues.

The Secretary-General and the Special Envoy reiterated the importance of sustainable development goals for Guinea and the rest of Africa, including in education and energy efficiency.
