The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon, President of Tajikistan, on the margins of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development in Rio de Janeiro.

The Secretary-General and President Rahmon discussed the centrality of sustainable development to the future of the region, especially in regards to energy needs. They also discussed broader regional relations.
