Readout of the Secretary-General's meeting with the Prime Minister of Thailand

The Secretary-General met in Seoul today with the Prime Minister of Thailand, H.E. Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra.
They exchanged views on a range of topics, including UN-ASEAN cooperation, the Cambodia-Thailand border dispute, Myanmar, Timor-Leste, the Rio +20 UN sustainable development conference, maternal and children's health, and matters related to gender equality and the empowerment of women.

The Secretary-General thanked the Prime Minister for Thailand's contribution to peacekeeping operations, including in Darfur. He also appreciated the Prime Minister's update on the country's flood recovery efforts.  
The Secretary-General highlighted the importance of achieving genuine national reconciliation for Thailand’s long-term stability and development.
