Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Aníbal António Cavaco Silva, President of the Republic of Portugal

The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Aníbal António Cavaco Silva, President of the Republic of Portugal.

The Secretary-General expressed his appreciation for Portugal’s active engagement with regard to oceans issues, including in the discussions related to the sustainable development goals and its support to the Regular Process for Global Reporting and Assessment of the State of the Marine Environment. The Secretary-General and the President also discussed the situations in Guinea-Bissau and Mali.
