Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Jean-Claude Gakosso, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of the Congo

The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Jean-Claude Gakosso, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of the Congo. They discussed the situation in the country, including the importance of continued dialogue among all political stakeholders.

They also exchanged views on regional developments, such as the ongoing crisis in the Central African Republic. In this regard, they agreed on the need for increased international support to bring the transition to an end.

The Secretary-General congratulated Congo for its role in the international mediation in the crisis in the Central African Republic.
