Readout of the meeting between the Secretary-General and the Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh

The Secretary-General met with Mr. Md. Shahidul Haque, Foreign Secretary of

Bangladesh, to exchange views on the current situation in Bangladesh,

including on issues of accountability and justice, and the need to adhere to

international standards.  They also discussed the forthcoming election and

the importance of a free, fair, credible and inclusive process. The Foreign

Secretary also delivered a letter to the Secretary-General from the Foreign

Minister.
