Readout of the Secretary-General's meeting with H.E. Mr. Najib Razak,
Prime Minister of Malaysia, in the margins of the 65th General Assembly

The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Najib Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia. They discussed various issues of common interest, including the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), climate change, peacebuilding, ASEAN-UN cooperation, world trade, as well as Myanmar and the Middle East peace process. The Secretary-General expressed appreciation to the Prime Minister for the leadership in advancing the MDGs, as well as for Malaysia's active support for UN peacekeeping operations. With regard to Myanmar, the Secretary-General and the Prime Minister underscored the importance of an inclusive and credible electoral process.
