Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Xavier Bettel, Prime Minister of Luxembourg

The Secretary-General met today with H. E. Mr. Xavier Bettel, Prime Minister of Luxembourg. They agreed on the importance of eliminating discrimination and upholding the full range of human rights worldwide, including LGBT rights.

They also exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine. The Secretary-General expressed appreciation for Luxembourg’s strong support with regards to Syria and the issue of children in armed conflict. He welcomed Luxembourg’s continuing commitment to development cooperation, including through its role in garnering support for Guinea through the Peacebuilding Commission.
