Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Elio Di Rupo, Prime Minister of Belgium

The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Elio Di Rupo, Prime Minister of Belgium. During the meeting, the Prime Minister commended the Secretary-General for the successful outcome of the UN Climate Summit.

They noted the importance of the recent adoption of Security Council Resolution 2178 (2014), aimed at preventing the international flow of terrorist fighters to and from conflict zones.

The two interlocutors concluding by discussing the situation in the Great Lakes, especially with regard to the situation in Burundi and in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
