Readout of the Secretary-General's meeting with H.E. Mr. Abdurrahim el-Keib, Prime Minister of Libya, on the margins of the AU Summit

The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Abdurrahim el-Keib, Prime Minister of Libya, on the margins of the AU Summit. The Secretary-General expressed support for the interim Government's work. The Secretary-General and the Prime Minister discussed the security situation in the country and reintegration plans for fighters, as well as plans to improve conditions of detention.The Secretary General commended the Prime Minister on the public consultation process for the electoral law and reaffirmed the commitment of the United Nations, particularly through the UN Support Mission in Libya, to continue to provide support in the areas of elections, security, human rights and transitional justice as requested by the authorities.
