Renews until 30 November 2011 the measures on arms and transport, as well as the financial and travel measures imposed by resolution 1807 (2008), and reaffirms the provisions of paragraphs 10 and 12 of that resolution regarding the individuals and entities referred to in paragraph 4 of resolution 1857 (2008). Renews the mandate of the Group of Experts, with the addition of a sixth expert on natural resources issues, and requests the Group to evaluate the impact of due diligence guidelines referred to in the resolution. Supports taking forward the Group of Experts’ recommendations on guidelines for due diligence for importers, processing industries and consumers of Congolese mineral products, as set out in the final report (S/2010/596). Calls upon all States to take appropriate steps to raise awareness of the due diligence guidelines referred to above, and to urge importers, processing industries and consumers of Congolese mineral products to exercise due diligence by applying the aforementioned guidelines, or equivalent guidelines. Decides that the Sanctions Committee, in determining whether to designate an individual or entity supporting the illegal armed groups in the eastern part of the DRC through illicit trade of natural resources, should consider, amongst other things, whether the individual or entity has exercised due diligence consistent with the steps set out in the resolution.

Renews the arms embargo, previously imposed by paragraph 1 of resolution 1857 (2008), on all non-governmental entities and individuals operating in the territory of the DRC until 30 November 2010. Renews the measures on aviation and customs, as well as the travel ban and assets freeze on individuals and entities pursuant to the designation criteria set out in paragraph 4a to 4g of resolution 1857 (2008) which apply also to individuals obstructing the access to, or the distribution of, humanitarian assistance in eastern DRC, as well as individuals or entities supporting illegal armed groups in eastern DRC through illicit trade of natural resources. Extends the mandate of the Group of Experts for a period ending on 30 November 2010 and requests the Group of Experts to report to the Council in writing, through the Committee, by 21 May 2010 and again before 20 October 2010. Mandates the Group of Experts to produce, taking into account paragraph 4 (g) of resolution 1857 (2008), drawing inter alia on their reports and taking advantage of work done in other forums, recommendations to the Committee for guidelines for the exercise of due diligence by the importers, processing industries and consumers of mineral products regarding the purchase, sourcing, acquisition and processing of mineral products from the DRC.

Renews the measures on aviation and customs, as well as the travel ban and assets freeze on individuals and entities pursuant to resolution 1807 (2008) which apply also to individuals obstructing the access to, or the distribution of, humanitarian assistance in eastern DRC, as well as individuals or entities supporting illegal armed groups in eastern DRC through illicit trade of natural resources. Extends the mandate of the Group of Experts for a period ending on 30 November 2009 and requests the Group of Experts to report to the Council in writing, through the Committee, by 15 May 2009 and again before 15 October 2009.

Renews the arms embargo, previously imposed by paragraph 20 of resolution 1493 and 1 of resolution 1596 (2005), on all non-governmental entities and individuals operating in the DRC territory until 31 December 2008; and decides that the measures on arms and technical training no longer apply to the Government of the DRC. Renews the measures on aviation and customs, as well as the travel ban and assets freeze on individual and entities pursuant to resolution 1596 (2005), 1649 (2006) and 1698 (2006) which now apply also to individuals operating in the DRC and committing serious violations of international law involving the targeting of women in situations of armed conflict. Extends the mandate of the Group of Experts for a period ending on 31 december 2008 and decides to review the sanctions regime no later than 31 December 2008, in light of the consolidation of the security situation in the DRC.

Recalls that the targeted measures including a travel ban and an asset freeze imposed by paragraphs 13 and 15 of resolution 1596 (2005) were extended by resolutions 1649 (2005) and 1698 (2006) to apply in particular to political and military leaders of armed groups operating in the Democratic Republic of the Congo who impede the disarmament and the voluntary repatriation or resettlement of combatants belonging to those groups, and stresses that those measures are applicable to leaders of the FDLR, ex-FAR/Interahamwe and other Rwandan armed groups designated in accordance with the provisions of those resolutions.

Extends the arms embargo imposed by resolution 1493 (2003) as amended and expanded by resolution 1596 (2005), as well as the measures on transport imposed by resolution 1596 (2005) and the financial and travel measures imposed by resolution 1596 (2005), 1649 (2005) and 1698 (2006). Extends the mandate of the Group of Experts until 31 March 2008.

Renews until 15 February 2008 the arms embargo as well as travel and financial restrictions on individuals designated by the Committee in accordance with the criteria set out in resolutions 1596 (2005), 1649 (2006) and 1698 (2006). Requests the Secretary General to re-establish the Group of Experts for a period expiring on 15 February 2008.

Extends until 10 August 2007 the arms embargo as well as travel and financial restrictions on individuals designated by the Committee in accordance with the criteria set out in resolutions 1596 (2005), 1649 (2006) and 1698 (2006). Extends the mandate of the Group of Experts until 10 August 2007.

Renews until 31 July 2007 the arms embargo as well as travel and financial restrictions on individuals designated by the Committee in accordance with the criteria set out in resolution 1596 (2005) and 1649 (2006). Extends the travel and financial measures to political and military leaders recruiting or using children in armed conflict and to individuals violating international law involving targeting of children in arms conflict. Re-establishes the Group of Experts for a period expiring on 31 July 2007. Mandates the Group of Experts, in addition to the tasks defined in resolutions 1533, 1596 and 1649 to recommend feasible and effective measures the Council might impose to prevent illegal exploitation of natural resources financing armed groups in the Eastern part of the DRC. Requests the Secretary General to present a report on the potential economic, humanitarian and social impact on the population of the DRC of implementation of possible restrictive measures on natural resources.
