In accordance with paragraph 1 (b) of the Guidelines for the application of paragraphs 19 and 23 of resolution 1483 (2003), the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1518 (2003) concerning Iraq makes accessible a narrative summary of reasons for the listing for individuals and entities included in the sanctions list.
T.M.G. Engineering Limited was listed on 12 May 2006 in connection with the measures contained in paragraphs 19 and 23 (b) of resolution 1483 (2003), as “funds or other financial assets or economic resources that have been removed from Iraq, or acquired, by Saddam Hussein or other senior officials of the former Iraqi regime and their immediate family members, including entities owned or controlled, directly or indirectly, by them or by persons acting on their behalf or at their direction”
“T.M.G. Engineering Ltd. is a UK registered company almost wholly owned by TDG Ltd. [an entity listed above under number 207 (IQe.207)]. It therefore appears that T.M.G. Engineering Ltd. is effectively a subsidiary of Al-Arabi Trading Co. [an entity listed above under number 203 (IQe.203)]. Through its subsidiary T.M.G. Engineering Ltd., TDG Ltd. had a large stake in the Matrix Churchill group of companies, known to have played a key role in Iraq's military industrialization procurement efforts in the 1980s. T.M.G. Shareholders Echosabre Ltd. and Admincheck Ltd. were part of the Matrix Churchill group.”
