Lessons learned

As long as national and regional courts consider UN sanctions to fall short of the minimum standards of due process, national authorities may find themselves legally unable to fully implement them at the national level. However, effective collective measures are crucial in maintaining and restoring international peace and security.

Switzerland will continue, together with the Group of Like-Minded States on targeted sanctions, to propose due process improvements in targeted sanctions regimes.
