Marygoreth Richard is a presenter for Haba na Haba, a weekly magazine radio programme produced by BBC Media Action Tanzania in collaboration with community radio partners. With an audience reach of more than 6 million, the programme acts as a public interest watchdog by providing a platform for Tanzanians to express their views and hold their leaders to account. Prior to joining BBC Media Action, Ms. Richard was a news producer with TV ONE Tanzania and a news anchor with EA-TV Ltd. At the United Nations, she looks forward to bringing home news from the General Assembly that impacts her audiences in rural and peri-urban areas and to create understanding of the role of the UN and its development agenda in improving service delivery in Tanzania. Specifically, Ms. Richard plans to interview key officials about how the Organization can support Tanzania in ending female genital mutilation and early marriages, and to report on the high-level meeting to end tuberculosis.
