Secretary-General Condemns Twin Bomb Attacks in Somalia

The following statement was issued today by the Spokesman for UN Secretary-General António Guterres:

The Secretary‑General strongly condemns the twin bomb attacks today in Baidoa, Somalia.  He expresses his deep condolences to the families of the victims and wishes a speedy recovery to those injured.

The Secretary-General reiterates the United Nations support and solidarity with the people and Government of Somalia.  He is convinced that indiscriminate violence and attacks will not deter the Somali people in their pursuit of peace and stability.
