Secretary-General Condemns Attacks on Churches in Egypt

The following statement was issued today by the Spokesman for UN Secretary-General António Guterres:

The Secretary-General condemns today’s attacks on two Coptic Churches in Egypt.  The Secretary-General expresses his deep sympathies to the families of the victims and to the Government and people of the Arab Republic of Egypt.  He wishes a quick recovery to those injured and hopes that the perpetrators of this horrific terrorist act will be swiftly identified and brought to justice.
