Secretary-General Expresses Gratitude for Successful Bid to Relocate Camp Hurriya Residents

The following statement was issued today by the Spokesman for UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon:

The Secretary-General notes with satisfaction the completion of the relocation of more than 3,000 Camp Hurriya residents as requested by the Government of Iraq.  The Secretary-General is pleased that his good offices efforts through his Special Adviser, Jane Holl Lute, resulted in the successful resolution of this humanitarian issue.  He expresses his gratitude to the Member States and international organizations that supported these efforts.
