Peacekeeping Operations Committee Concludes Annual Session, Adopting Draft Report

Concluding its 2016 session, the Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations adopted without a vote today the draft report of the session, laying out the proposals, recommendations and conclusions submitted by its Working Group of the Whole on a wide range of peacekeeping issues.

The session took place at Headquarters from 16 February to 11 March.

Committee Rapporteur Seif Alla Youssef Kandeel (Egypt) introduced the report (document A/AC.121/2016/L.4).  In Chapter V of the text, the Special Committee commented on a wide range of topics related to peacekeeping operations.  Committee Chair Mateo Estreme (Argentina) made closing remarks after the action.
