Biographical Note


New permanent representative of SWAZILAND presents credentials

The new Permanent Representative of Swaziland to the United Nations, Joel Musa Nhleko, today presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.


At the time of his appointment, Mr. Nhleko was Chief of State Protocol in his country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.  Prior to that, he served as Counsellor at Swaziland’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York between 1995 and 2006.  He was First Secretary at the Embassy in Seoul, Republic of Korea, from 1994 to 1995.


Mr. Nhleko holds a master’s degree in political science and administration, and a bachelor’s degree in accounting, both from New York’s St. John’s University.  He also holds a diploma in accounting and business studies from the University of Swaziland, and certificates in finance management and in accounting and business studies from the Institute of Development Management and the University of Botswana and Swaziland, respectively.


Born in 1948, he is married and has children.
