Adviser, Mediation and Alliance of Civilizations

Mr. Muharrem Turgut joined the Foreign Service in 2006. He worked at the Department of South Asia and in the Islamic Republic of Iran as Attaché, until 2009. He then served in the Turkish Embassy in Sana’a (Yemen) as Third Secretary. In June 2011, Mr. Turgut served as Advisor in the Cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey in Ankara. He was then posted to the Permanent Mission of Turkey to the UN as First Secretary, mainly in charge of humanitarian issues, UN Reform and the UN Alliance of Civilizations. He graduated from the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the Middle East Technical University in Ankara. Mr. Turgut is a national of Turkey.
