Ms. Juliana Ruas joined the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2006. In Brasilia, Ms. Ruas worked in the United Nations Division and was Deputy Head of the Division of International Peace and Security. From January 2012 to August 2014, Ms. Ruas was posted to the Brazilian Mission to the United Nations in New York where she covered Security Council, peacekeeping issues, and administrative and budgetary issues. She served as Vice-President of the Fifth Committee during the 67th session. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of Sao Paulo and graduated in diplomacy in the Rio Branco Institute. Ms. Juliana Ruas is a Brazilian national.
