Ladies and gentlemen,<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Members of the Civil Society,<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I begin by welcoming you all to the United Nations and to this town hall meeting.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Let me take a moment to acknowledge the remarkable diversity in this room.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You all come from different backgrounds, cultures, and hold varying perspectives of the world and our society.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Yet you are united in the pursuit of a better world for all, proving that diversity is indeed our strength.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This is what I call \u201cunity in diversity\u201d, in my vision statement for the 79th<\/sup> Session of the United Nations General Assembly.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Let me also take the opportunity to commend you, as civil society representatives, for your engagement with the United Nations.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You are an integral part of what the Charter refers to as \u201cWe, the Peoples\u201d. <\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Our global challenges require a collective, all-hands-on-deck solution, which includes each and everyone of you, members of the civil society.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I look forward to listening to you today and to engaging with you throughout the 79th session of the General Assembly.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Colleagues, dear friends<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As we explore potential avenues on which we may collaborate, allow me to outline the priorities that will be pursued during the 79th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

These priorities are largely my signature events which add to the mandates bestowed upon the 79th<\/sup> Session by the General Assembly.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Though wide-ranging, these priorities are deeply interconnected, and embody our commitment to a more just, secure, and prosperous world.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

They reflect the needs of our world, today, and are rooted in the three pillars of the United Nations. Namely: human rights, sustainable development, and peace and security.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

They are as follows:<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n
