Monday, 5 December 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>TEDROS<\/strong><\/p>\n

President Csaba K\u0151r\u00f6si this hour spoke with Dr. Tedros, of the World Health Organization.<\/p>\n

During the virtual call, they discussed the three high-level health-focused meetings that will take place next year, on the topics of universal health coverage; tuberculosis; and pandemic prevention, preparedness and response.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

GATES <\/strong><\/p>\n

On these topics, the President also met today with Mark Suzman, the CEO of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.<\/p>\n

They discussed how the Gates Foundation can help support the General Assembly\u2019s work. Including also on the SDG Summit next September.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

CHINESE MISSION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ahead of these meeting,<\/p>\n

President K\u0151r\u00f6si this morning visited the Permanent Mission of the People\u2019s Republic of China, where he signed a condolence book for the late Jiang Zemin.<\/p>\n

The General Assembly had on the first of December observed a moment of silence to honor the former President.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

BILATERALS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Turning to today\u2019s bilaterals, President K\u0151r\u00f6si will today meet with Mr. Alvaro Delgado, who is the Secretary of the President of Uruguay.<\/p>\n

In a separate meeting, President K\u0151r\u00f6si will be meeting with Ambassador Leonor Zalabata Torres, the Permanent Representative of Colombia.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

DIWALI<\/strong><\/p>\n

This afternoon, the President will participate in an event marking Diwali, organized by the Diwali Foundation USA, along with UN Member States.<\/p>\n

This is an award ceremony.<\/p>\n

The event will be webcast on UN WebTV.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

TOMORROW<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tomorrow\u2026 the General Assembly will hold a plenary meeting on humanitarian and disaster relief, at 10AM.<\/p>\n

President K\u0151r\u00f6si will have remarks.<\/p>\n
