Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met with H.E. Mr. Mario Adolfo B\u00facaro Flores, Minister of Foreign Affairs on 14 July 2022.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The President expressed gratitude for the support received by the Republic of Guatemala during his Presidency of Hope and congratulated him on Guatemala\u2019s contributions to the United Nations peacekeeping operations and for the national efforts towards the fulfillment of the objectives of the 2030 Agenda.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Minister\u00a0highlighted that President\u00a0Shahid was the first\u00a0President\u00a0of the General\u00a0Assembly\u00a0visiting his country. He also shared\u00a0Guatemala&#8217;s efforts towards\u00a0addressing climate change in the Central American and the Caribbean region.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Both sides also discussed other relevant topics including\u00a0COVID-19 recovery,\u00a0women&#8217;s leadership, multilateralism, the new common agenda\u00a0for the future, and the recently concluded International Migration Review Forum.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The meeting took place at the National Palace of Culture, Guatemala City.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>15\u00a0July\u00a02022<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E.
