Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with H.E Martha Delgado, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mexico and the President of the UN-HABITAT Assembly, and H.E. Mr Maimunah Mohd Sharif, Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of UN-HABITAT.<\/p>\n<p data-ogsc=\"rgb(33, 33, 33)\">\n<p data-ogsc=\"rgb(33, 33, 33)\">The President of the UN-HABITAT Assembly and the Executive Director of UN-HABITAT commended the President on his efforts to mainstream sustainable urbanization, including through setting up an Advisory Committee in support of preparations for the High-Level Meeting on assessing implementation of the New Urban Agenda. They also highlighted the importance of supporting the efforts of the UN-HABITAT including through adequate financial resources.<\/p>\n<p data-ogsc=\"rgb(33, 33, 33)\">\n<p data-ogsc=\"rgb(33, 33, 33)\">The President thanked the President of the UN-HABITAT Assembly and the Executive Director of UN-HABITAT for their efforts in promoting sustainable urbanization and towards the New Urban Agenda. In particular, he thanked Executive Director of UN-HABITAT and her team for the support and close coordination in preparing for the High-Level Meeting.<\/p>\n<p data-ogsc=\"rgb(33, 33, 33)\">\n<p data-ogsc=\"rgb(33, 33, 33)\">Other topics such as climate change, resilience building, responding and rebuilding from the COVID-19 pandemic, were also discussed.<\/p>\n<p data-ogsc=\"rgb(33, 33, 33)\">\n<p data-ogsc=\"rgb(33, 33, 33)\">The meeting took place in the President\u2019s office at United Nations Headquarters in New York.<\/p>\n<p data-ogsc=\"rgb(33, 33, 33)\">\n<p data-ogsc=\"rgb(33, 33, 33)\">28 April 2022<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E.
