Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met with the Permanent Representative of Antigua and Barbuda to the UN and Chair of AOSIS, H.E. Dr. Walton Alfonso Webson.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in\"><span style=\"color: #212121\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in\"><span style=\"color: #212121\">The Ambassador commended the President for taking up the cause of the plight of countries in vulnerable situations such as Small Island Developing States (SIDS), and encouraged continuation of such advocacy, especially as it relates to multi-dimensional vulnerabilities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in\"><span style=\"color: #212121\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in\"><span style=\"color: #212121\">He also congratulated the President on his hosting the upcoming high-level event on \u201cGalvanizing momentum for universal vaccination\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in\"><span style=\"color: #212121\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in\"><span style=\"color: #212121\">The President outlined some of his other initiatives under consideration for the remainder of the 76<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Session of the General Assembly including a proposed high-level event on tourism.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in\"><span style=\"color: #212121\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in\"><span style=\"color: #212121\">Both sides also exchanged views on other topics of relevance such as climate change, debt relief for SIDS, PGA\u2019s Fellowship for HOPE and the follow-up process to the Secretary-General\u2019s report \u2019Our Common Agenda\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in\"><span style=\"color: #212121\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in\"><span style=\"color: #212121\">The meeting took place in the President\u2019s office at United Nations Headquarters in New York.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The President of the 76th\u00a0Sessional of the General Assembly H.E.
