horizontal_offset_tablet=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with H.E. Mr. Xavier Bettel, Prime Minister of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister Bettel pledged the continued support of Luxembourg to the Office of the President of the General Assembly, including the specific priorities identified in the President\u2019s \u201cfive rays of hope\u201d for the 76th session. They agreed on the need to strengthen the role of the General Assembly, to revitalize the UN, and to elevate multilateralism with all necessary means.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The President underlined the necessity of achieving vaccine equity by the end of 2022 as the first step to building back better from the COVID-19 pandemic. Climate change, sustainable development, peace and security, human rights, gender equality, and the evolving situation in Afghanistan were also discussed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The meeting took place
