El Hadj Lehbib Mohamedou is a career diplomat from Mauritania, serving  as an Adviser in the Office of the President of the 76th  Session of the General Assembly.

El Hadj is a member of the UN Reform, Legal and Budget Team, in charge of questions related to the Administrative and Budgetary committee (Fifth Committee). He also acts as the Arab Group liaison.

Prior to assuming his duties in the Office of the President of the General Assembly, El Hadj served in the Permanent Mission of Mauritania to the United Nations as a Second Counselor. He was the expert in charge of the Fifth Committee. He served also as Elections Officer and covered other questions such as the cooperation between the G5 Sahel and the United Nations.

During his service in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad of Mauritania, El Hadj served as Chief of Service in the Direction of Protocol.

El Hadj holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Nouakchott, and a diploma from the National School of Administration of Mauritania, diplomatic section.

 El Hadj speaks Arabic, English and French.
