Meeting between President of General Assembly and Director, a.i., of the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC)

The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with Mr. Adel Abdellatif, Director, a.i., of the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation.

During the meeting, President Shahid and Director Abdellatif discussed areas of collaboration between the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation, and the office of the President of the General Assembly, the (UNOSSC) Director also expressed support to the priorities initiated by President Shahid during the 76th session of the General Assembly.

The President noted that the COVID-19 responses, demonstrated the importance of South-South cooperation. Both sides discussed that advancing South-south cooperation is a shared responsibility, and they urged the need to build confidence and trust through the engagement of countries from the global south and the north.

The President met the (UNOSSC) Director, Ad Interim Mr. Adel Abdellatif in his office at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
