United Nations, New York, 29 July 2021 – The President of the 75th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Volkan Bozkır, will travel to the State of Kuwait, from 31 July to 2 August.

This trip is planned to be his last official visit as President of the General Assembly.

The President is expected to be received by His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait.

He will then meet bilaterally with His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait.

The President will also meet with His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of Kuwait and His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Foreign Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs of Kuwait.

President Bozkir will also meet with representatives of the UN Country Team, led by Mr. Tarek el Sheikh, UN Resident Coordinator in Kuwait.

During his engagements, President Bozkir plans to focus on the need to continue strengthening multilateralism, including in the global fight against COVID-19, the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and other priorities such as ensuring vaccines for all and supporting the most vulnerable.

The President will also focus on Kuwait’s important role with regards to multilateral diplomacy, humanitarian efforts and conflict prevention as well as on regional issues.
