On 9 March 2021, the President of the seventy-fifth session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Volkan Bozkir, held an in-person meeting with H.E. Mrs. Linda Thomas-Greenfield, Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations and President of the Security Council for the month of March. They discussed issues of common interest and activity, including food security, Myanmar, Syria, Ethiopia and the Secretary-General selection and appointment process.

President Bozkir congratulated Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield on her appointment as the United States’ Ambassador to the United Nations and said he looked forward to working constructively with the United States throughout its Security Council presidency and throughout the seventy-fifth session of the General Assembly.
