On 12 January 2021, the President of the 75th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Volkan Bozkir, held an in-person meeting with H.E. Mr. Tarek Ladeb, Permanent Representative of Tunisia and President of the Security Council for the month of January.

Ambassador Ladeb briefed the President on the main activities to be undertaken during his presidency of the Council. The two Presidents discussed Tunisia’s priorities as Chair of the Counter-Terrorism Committee, the situation in Yemen and the selection process for the position of Secretary-General of the United Nations.

While thanking Ambassador Ladeb for his visit, President Bozkir commended him on the rich programme of work of the Security Council for the month of January and said he looked forward to working constructively with Tunisia throughout his presidency and indeed throughout the seventy-fifth session of the General Assembly.
