Readout of meeting between President of General Assembly and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan

The President of the 75th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Volkan Bozkir, met today with H.E. Mr. Motegi Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan.

The discussed the COVID-19 pandemic, including the upcoming special session of the General Assembly on COVID-19, Universal Health Coverage, leaving no one behind and the impact on the 75^th session.

The President discussed his priorities and upcoming meetings of the General Assembly. They both underscored the importance of multilateralism to address global challenges, including COVID-19.

They discussed the need for UN reform so that the United Nations can effectively deal with today’s challenges.
