B\u00e9atrice Maill\u00e9 is Senior Legal and Team Leader on UN Reforms, Budget and Legal Affairs in the Office of the President of the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. She also acts as liaison for the Group of Western European and Other States (WEOG).<\/p>\n

Previously, as a career diplomat, Ms Maill\u00e9 served as the Director General Legal Affairs and Deputy Legal Adviser at Global Affairs Canada.\u00a0 She held other senior positions including Executive Director, Criminal Security and Diplomatic Law and Director General, Consular Policy Bureau.<\/p>\n

Ms Maill\u00e9 served at the Permanent Mission of Canada to the United Nations, New York; the Embassy of Canada to the United States, Washington DC; as well as to the Embassy of Canada to the Kingdom of Belgium, with accreditation to Luxembourg, Brussels. She also served as the Deputy Permanent Observer to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.<\/p>\n

Ms Maill\u00e9 holds a Master from the Elliott School of International Affairs of George Washington University, a Maitrise in International Law from Aix-Marseille III as well as law degrees (BCL and LLB) from McGill University.\u00a0 She was a successful litigation attorney at the firm Robinson, Sheppard, Shapiro senc. in Montreal, Quebec before she joined the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ms Maill\u00e9 speaks French (native) and English.<\/p>\n
