Jerobeam Shaanika is Deputy Chef de Cabinet in the Office of the President of the 74th Session of the UN General Assembly.<\/p>\n

He served as Ambassador of Namibia to Cuba 2013-2018 as well as concurrently accredited to Venezuela; Haiti, Antigua and Barbuda; Dominican Republic and Panama.<\/p>\n

He was Deputy Permanent Representative of the Republic of Namibia to the United Nations 2010-2013.<\/p>\n

Prior to that he served (2007-2010) as Deputy Director for Americas, Caribbean, Africa and the Middle East in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Namibia. From 2003 to 2007 he served as Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Namibia in Cuba with concurrent accreditations to Venezuela and Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n

From 1999 to 2003 he served as Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Namibia in France with concurrent accreditations to Spain, Italy and Portugal. He also served as Deputy Permanent Delegate to UNESCO 1999 to 2003.<\/p>\n

From 1995 to 1999 he served as Counsellor at the High Commission of Namibia to the United Kingdom with concurrent accreditation to Ireland.<\/p>\n

Before joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he served as Special Assistant to the first President of the Republic of Namibia from 1990-95.<\/p>\n

He participated in the liberation struggle for Namibia. He received high school education in Nigeria and University education in the United Kingdom, France and Cuba.<\/p>\n

He specializes in international relations and diplomacy; Foreign Policy analysis; international security and strategic studies.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He is married and has four children.<\/p>\n
