United Nations, New York, 13 May 2020 – In accordance with General Assembly decision 74/544 entitled “Procedure for taking decisions of the General Assembly during the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic”, the General Assembly adopted the following decisions today:

  • Decision 74/550 entitled “Fourteenth United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice” to postpone the holding of the Congress until further notice and to consider new dates in due course.

The Congress was scheduled to take place in Kyoto, Japan, from 20 to 27 April 2020, with pre-Congress consultations to be held on 19 April 2020.

  • Decision 74/549 entitled “Fourth Conference of Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zones and Mongolia, 2020”, to postpone the fourth Conference of Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zones and Mongolia to a period in 2021 to be decided by the General Assembly at its seventy – fifth session.

The Conference was scheduled to be held at United Nations Headquarters in New York on 24 April 2020.

  • Decision 74/548 entitled “2020 United Nations Conference to Support the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development” to postpone the Conference to a later date to be decided by the General Assembly.

The Conference was scheduled to be held in Lisbon, from 2 to 6 June 2020.

  • Decision74/547 entitled “Interactive dialogue on Harmony with Nature” to cancel the interactive dialogue that was scheduled to be held during the seventy-fourth session of the General Assembly.
