H.E. Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, President of the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly will travel to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on February 6 to attend the African Union Summit and participate in a number of high-level events.

On February 8, the President will participate in a panel discussion on “Prioritizing Prevention as the Most Logical Choice for Silencing the Guns” organized by the Addis Ababa Institute for Peace and Security Studies (IPSS), at the University of Addis Ababa.

The President of the General Assembly will hold bilateral meetings with several officials. He will also participate in a high-level event under the title: “Stop the War on Children: Dividends of Silencing the Guns.”

The President of the General Assembly will be accompanied by his Chef de Cabinet H.E. Mari Skaare, Senior Advisers Ifeyinwa Angela Nworgu, Xiaomei Li, Michael Onyedika Okwudili, Bruno Rios Sanchez, Special Assistant to the Chef de Cabinet, Faisal Ibrahim and his Spokesperson Reem Abaza.

The President will return to New York on February 11. The cost of the trip will be covered by the Trust Fund of the Office of the President of the General Assembly.
