Muyiwa W. Onifade is the Special Adviser to the President of the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2008 from the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). He has served in different capacity in the Ministry, working as Third Secretary (Research and Statistics), Second Secretary (Office of the Director – Planning, Research and Statistics), First Secretary/Personal Assistant (Director – Planning, Research and Statistics) and Counsellor (Policy Planning).

Muyiwa has served in the Embassy of Nigeria to the People’s Republic of China, Beijing and the Permanent Mission of Nigeria to the United Nations, New York – handling the Economic/Commercial/Information and Security Council/Peace Building schedules respectively.

Prior to moving to New York, he was an Assistant Chief Protocol Officer in the Office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Muyiwa holds a Masters degree in Diplomatic Studies from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom and a Bachelors degree in Sociology from Adekunle Ajasin University, Nigeria.
