Joao Serrao Lopes – Senior Adviser

João Serrão Lopes is an adviser on 2nd Committee and ECOSOC issues in the Office of the President of the 74^th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

As a career diplomat, he has previously served at the Portuguese Embassies in Dakar and Kinshasa and at the Portuguese Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York, where he followed 2^nd Committee affairs and related issues.

João holds a Law degree from the University of Lisbon. Before joining the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he worked as a lawyer and a jurist in the private sector.

He speaks Portuguese (native), English and French.
