Bruno Ríos is a Senior Advisor in the Sustainable Development Team of the President of the 74th session of the General Assembly in charge of Digitalization and use of Technologies, South-South Cooperation and countries in special situations.

He is a Foreign Service Officer from Mexico. Prior to joining the Office, he was the Coordinator for Economic and Social Affairs at the Mission of Mexico to the United Nations. Previously, he was a delegate to the Third Committee in charge of the Gender, Drugs and Crime portfolios. He facilitated several resolutions on the world drug problem, human rights and terrorism, the rights of persons with disabilities, financing for development and relations between parliaments and the United Nations. He coordinated the Core Group on Rapid Technological Change and chaired the Groups of Friends of Persons with Disabilities and Indigenous Peoples. He served as Vice-chair of the 56th session of the Commission on Social Development and the 4th meeting of the States Parties to the Convention on Enforced Disappearances. He has been part of delegations to major UN meetings such as the Rio+20 Conference and the Special Session of the General Assembly on the World Drug Problem. He has been a lead negotiator for Mexico in the Committee on the Status of Women (CSW) and the Commission on Population and Development (CPD).

Previously, Bruno was posted in the Embassy of Mexico in Brazil where he was in charge of Political Affairs, Press and Cooperation and in the Embassy of Mexico in Saudi Arabia where he was in charge of Consular and Political affairs.

He holds a degree in International Relations from ITAM in Mexico City and is fluent in Spanish, English, Portuguese and French.
