Campaign Adviser Communications and Campaign Adviser

Carl currently supports communications in the Office of the President of the 73nd Session of the UN General Assembly. This includes overseeing special campaigns, such as the President’s campaign against plastic pollution. Carl also supports speech writing and other communications activities.

A Canadian, Carl joined the Office of the President of the UN General Assembly from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), where he spent nearly six years managing advocacy and communications on climate change, disaster risk reduction and sustainable energy.

Prior to his time at UNDP, Carl worked for non-governmental organizations in Chad, Ethiopia, France, Indonesia, and the United States. During this time he served in various roles, covering both programme support as well as advocacy and communications.

Carl received a Bachelors in Political Science from Memorial University of Newfoundland, as well as a Masters in International Relations, Conflict and Human Rights from Utrecht University in the Netherlands.
