IN ARGENTINA, PGA HIGHLIGHTS ROLE OF MULTILATERALISM

Today, the President of the General Assembly is concluding her official visit to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she is attending the last day of the UN Conference on South-South Cooperation.

Ms. Maria Fernanda Espinosa has delivered her speech on the positive role of multilateralism in achieving “outstanding results” through cooperation.

Ms. Espinosa praised Member States’ efforts to produce the outcome document which she believes will lead to new opportunities for more cooperation and solidarity not only in the global south but also with developed countries and other relevant actors.

The PGA highlighted that the South-South Cooperation and the Triangular Cooperation help to accelerate the implementation of the Agenda 2030 on sustainable development by eradicating poverty and hunger, ensuring more health services, quality education, promoting environmental protection and stopping discrimination and violence against women among other achievements.
