PGA HOLDS PRESS CONFERENCE WITH FOUR FEMALE HEADS OF STATE AND GOVERNMENT TO RAISE AWARENESS ON WOMEN IN POWER

 

The Presidents of Croatia, Estonia, Trinidad and Tobago and the Prime Minister of Iceland talked to UN correspondents on gender equality and the role of women in politics

                                                                                         

UNITED NATIONS, New York, 12 March 2019 — The President of the United Nations General Assembly, Ms. María Fernanda Espinosa, held a press conference with four female Heads of State and Government in the margins of the High-Level Event, #WomenInPower.

Ms. Espinosa was accompanied by the President of Croatia, H.E. Ms. Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović; the President of Estonia, H.E. Mrs. Kersti Kaljulaid; the President of Trinidad and Tobago, H.E. Ms. Paula-Mae Weekes and the Prime Minister of Iceland, H.E. Ms. Katrín Jakobsdóttir.
