The President of the UN General Assembly, H.E. Maria Fernanda Espinosa Garces, met today with President of Development of Indigenous Peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean Fund, Dr. Myrna Cunningham. The President commended Dr. Myrna for her continued commitment to promote indigenous peoples rights in Latin America and Caribe. They exchanged views on the global progress made to advance the rights of indigenous peoples. They agreed on the need for broader participation of indigenous youth and women at regional and global levels.
