UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY WILL VISIT THE SULTANATE OF OMAN 22-25 JANUARY 2019
UNITED NATIONS, New York, 16 January 2019 – The President of the General Assembly will travel to the Sultanate of Oman from 22-25 January at the invitation of the Omani Government.
In the country’s capital, Muscat, the PGA will visit the National Defence College of Oman and deliver a lecture on “the importance of multilateralism and the role of the General Assembly in the maintenance on international peace and security”.
The President will also hold several bilateral meetings on multilateralism, the priorities of the current session of the GA including women and youth empowerment, as well as cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Nations. The PGA will visit the Omani Women Association, and meet the Sultanate of Oman’s Foreign Affairs Minister, H.E. Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah.
The PGA’s delegation includes her Chef de Cabinet, a senior adviser, a media adviser and her personal assistant. Ms. Espinosa will return to New York, on Saturday 26 January. Travel costs are being covered by the Sultanate of Oman.
