Mr. Miroslav Laj\u010d\u00e1k, visited the People\u2019s Republic of China from 1 to 3 July.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In Beijing, Mr. Laj\u010d\u00e1k held a number of meetings with Chinese officials.<\/p>\n<p>He congratulated H.E. Mr. Wang Qishan, Vice President of the People\u2019s Republic of China, on China\u2019s important role and active engagement at the United Nations, and its strong commitment to multilateralism.<\/p>\n<p>In his meeting with H.E. Mr. Yang Jiechi, Member of the Political Bureau and Director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China\u2019s Central Committee, the President spoke about global challenges, multilateralism, and China\u2019s leadership at the United Nations and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>He discussed the current state of multilateralism and the priorities of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly including the\u00a0Sustainable Development Goals, the Global Compact on Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration and the importance of conflict\u00a0prevention\u00a0and sustaining peace, with H.E. Mr. Wang Yi, State Councillor and Minister for Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n<p>With H.E.
