The Week Ahead at the General Assembly of the United Nations

Wednesday, 5 September

The President of the General Assembly will convene a High-Level Forum on a Culture of Peace, at 10 a.m. in the General Assembly Hall. A Panel discussion on the theme: “The Culture of Peace: A Credible Pathway to Sustaining Peace” will be held at 3 p.m. in the Trusteeship Council Chamber.

 

The Co-chairs of the ad hoc open-ended working group to consider options to address possible gaps in international environmental law and environmental related instruments, in accordance to General Assembly resolution 72/277 of 10 May 2018 entitled “Towards a Global Pact for the Environment”, will convene the organizational session of the process from 5-7 September 2018 in Conference Room 4..

 

The President of the General Assembly will host a working luncheon on Accessibility, at 1:15 p.m.

 

The President of the General Assembly will attend the Opening of the Slovak Press Photo Exhibition at 6:30 p.m.

 

Thursday, 6 September

A High-Level meeting to commemorate and promote the International Day against Nuclear Tests, will take place at 10 a.m. in the General Assembly Hall.

 

 

Friday, 7 September 

The President of the General Assembly will host the 14th and final session of the Morning Dialogues during the 72nd session of the General Assembly entitled “Best practices and lesson learned: what we did, what we didn’t do and how to move forward”, at 8:15 a.m.
