The Week Ahead at the General Assembly of the United Nations

Monday, 9 April

The President of the General Assembly will participate in a High-Level Event on “Crime Prevention and Sustainable Development through Sports” co-organized by the Permanent Missions of Colombia, Italy, Monaco, Qatar and Rwanda, and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime at 10 a.m. in the ECOSOC Chamber.

The Co-facilitators of the repositioning of the United Nations development system related to the quadrennial comprehensive policy review (QCPR) of operational activities for development of the UN system, will hold informal consultations at 10 a.m. in Conference Room 2.

The President of the General Assembly will deliver remarks at the opening of the ‘Arab Women in Sports’ exhibition at 12:30 p.m. at the Delegates Entrance.

The Co-facilitators to lead the intergovernmental consultations on a draft resolution to be adopted by the General Assembly during the High-Level Meeting on Peacebuilding and Sustaining Peace on 24-25 April will hold informal consultations on the latest revised draft resolution, at 3 p.m. in Conference Room 2.

 

Thursday, 12 April

The General Assembly Plenary will meet at 10:00 a.m.  in the General Assembly Hall to consider the following agenda items: Improving global road safety; Sport for development and peace; and Sustainable development.

 

Friday, 13 April

The President of the General Assembly will host the 8th session of his Morning Dialogues Series. The theme of this dialogue will be “UN-Poppable Bubble: Engaging with External Stakeholders” from 8:15 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

The President of the General Assembly will participate in the annual commemoration ceremony on the occasion of the International Day of Reflection on the Genocide against the Tsutsi in Rwanda. The event will take place from 3 to 4 p.m. in the General Assembly Hall
