Monday, 19 March

Informal consultations will be convened by the co-facilitators on strengthening of the Economic and Social Council”, at 10 a.m. in Trusteeship Council Chamber.

Tuesday, 20 March

The Ad Hoc Working Group on the Revitalization of the Work of the General Assembly will hold its Second thematic debate on working methods, at 10:00 a.m. in Trusteeship Council Chamber.

The General Assembly Plenary will meet at 03:00 p.m. at the General Assembly Hall, to consider the following agenda item: Elimination of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance: commemorative meeting on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

Wednesday, 21 March

The Office of the President of the General Assembly will host the opening of “Water Action Decade – Countries’ Perspectives” – a two-weeks long joint Member States exhibition at Delegates Entrance, United Nations Headquarters from 06:30 – 08:00 p.m.  The exhibition showcases Sustainable Development Goal 6 on access to clean water and sanitation, and water-related photography from 12 different countries. As part of the exhibition opening, a Water Action Decade lightshow will be projected on the building of the UN General Assembly.
The projections can be watched from 1st Avenue from 07:15 to 08:15 p.m. The projections can also be watched on 22 March 2018, from 07:30 to 08:30 p.m.

Thursday, 22 March

On the occasion of the launch of the International Decade for Action , “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018–2028, The President of the General Assembly will convene a high-level event, in 22-23 March. The President will deliver opening remarks to officially Launch the Action Decade on Water at 10 a.m. in the General Assembly Hall.

The first panel entitled ‘Contribution of the Water Decade to the implementation of water related Sustainable Development Goals: addressing challenges and seizing opportunities through strengthening cooperation and partnerships’ will take place 03:00 p.m. in the Trusteeship Council Chamber.

The second panel entitled ‘Role of relevant stakeholders in mobilizing necessary resources for the implementation and follow-up of water related SDGs’ will take place at 04:30 p.m. in Trusteeship Council Chamber.
